Rajesh Kumar has a Bachelor Degree in Business Management. He is continuing his family business. Looking into the opportunities that farming has in India, he started his own farm. He completed an Agribusiness Management course in Cornell University, Ithaca, New York in 2005. He is a member of Junior Chamber of International and was President of Salem Chapter, Member of Madras Management Association. He is a member of Farmers Welfare Association which looks into the development of the farmers by increasing their farm income.

The farm is about 120 acres in two regions. Irrigation is done by drip as well as flood. All the vegetable seeds are hybrid. He also does contract farming, by which vegetable seeds and fertilizer are supplied to the farmers and the produce is purchased, consolidated and supplied to a retail chain. Farmers get high revenue by this method. He also has a food processing unit for canning of vegetables. Fresh produce is also sold directly to consumers through kiosks in many places.

Rajesh has attended a few training programs conducted by Agri University in India on Irrigation, Farm Management and Food Processing. India is a primarily agricultural economy; a lot of trading is being done in Agri commodities. The economy is not fully opened to foreign companies in farming. Biotechnology is fast developing. Many leading international companies have a presence. Cotton is the major GM Crop in India. Rajesh looks forward to interacting with other farmers from the Globe as well as the leading academic personalities at the TATT Global Round Table.  He hopes to improve his agricultural practices. This learning will be passed on to other farmers in India and they will also benefit.
